We start off quiet with temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s this morning. Highs this afternoon will be above average yet again in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. As our next system approaches, out ahead of it, we will see scattered showers and storms starting in the afternoon and continuing into the evening, especially northwest of I-65. A strong storm or two cannot be ruled out. Lows tonight will me muggy and mild in the 70’s. Thursday looks like our wettest day with scattered showers and storms around as the front moves through. A few strong storms cannot be ruled out with a few gusty winds possible. As this front moves out Friday morning, a few storms will linger, but drier and slightly cooler air will usher in for Friday and the weekend. In the tropics, we are tracking a lot of activity. Gabrielle is a hurricane and will gradually weaken as it moves towards Europe. This is not a threat to the United States. We are also keeping an eye on two disturbances. The first is a tropical wave in the central Atlantic. It is enduring some drier air right now, but has a HIGH chance of developing into something tropical later this week. The second is a disturbance near the Lesser Antilles. It has a HIGH chance for development.
