But we’re particular about Flushing. This is a charming coastal village located in the civil parish of Mylor. It’s just across the Penryn River accessed from Falmouth's largest towns. This village was founded in the 17th century by Dutch engineers. Flushing in Falmouth offers everything, from superb Blue Flag beaches to sailing, skiing, cliff walking, and a bustling town center. Within its reach is a wide range of top-quality shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants. Flushing is actually part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The implication of this is that it enjoys the same status and protection as a National Park. It has a rich history built around the maritime industry and shipbuilding. No wonder it’s a popular destination for tourists. This is an economic boost for a village with a peaceful atmosphere. Nine: Newquay Next is Newquay, a town situated on the northern coast of the peninsula. This town is known to have a nearly subtropical climate at times during the summer. It is steeped in a history stretching back to the pre-medieval period! We include it on this list of the 10 best places to live in Cornwall due to its unbeatable beaches magnetizing plenty of people during the summer months making it the undisputed surfing capital of the UK. While the town is home to just 20,000 permanent residents, its population often swells in the hotter months. This is when it usually welcomes everyone from everywhere to come and enjoy its nightlife, an abundance of outdoor activities like kayaking and jetting, and beautiful coastal scenery. The youthful feel of the area keeps surfers and summer workers glued to the town’s plenty of pep and zing. Eight: Cawsand and Kingsand We’re looking to twin villages next. These picturesque villages dominate a quiet, unspoiled part of Cornwall that tourists and property buyers don’t often consider. It’s surrounded by Plymouth Sound and the English Channel. Residents of these villages get the feeling of being in control of their own world. Kingsand and Cawsand are bombarded by choice for pubs. Mount Edgcumbe is just a fifteen-minute drive down the peninsula. The grand stately home with enormous parks offers sweeping views down to the bay. The villages enjoy another pedestrian ferry, popular with commuters and schoolchildren. It’s just a five-minute ride to West Plymouth. Another attraction of Cawsand and Kingsand is that homes here are spacious. Seven: Porthleven Porthleven is often listed among the most beautiful places to live in Cornwall. And there’s a good reason for that. For example, it’s located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), offering stunning coastal views with a picturesque harbor. Porthleven is renowned for its great restaurants and annual food festival. This festival attracts food enthusiasts from all over. The town boasts a strong sense of community as it has a mix of locals, creatives, and holiday-makers. It also has plenty of outdoor activities, sea cliff climbing, kayaking, and surfing. The town has a variety of independent shops, restaurants, cafes, and pubs, making it a vibrant place to live. Six: Wadebridge This is another Cornish town straddling the River Camel. It has some lovely properties that attract folks from all walks of life. It was originally known as Wade before a bridge was built in the 15th century. It now has a popular route for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders mostly with views of the surrounding countryside. This is a place where you’re free to enjoy the benefits of proximity to the coast without some of the common touristy downsides. ✅ For business inquiries, contact me at [email protected] IMPORTANT INFORMATION This video contains images that were used under a Creative Commons License.
