Late in the 20th century, the Rosen Corporation advanced android evolution into the Nexus phase - a being virtually identical to a human. The Nexus 6 androids were superior in strength and agility, and at least equal in intelligence, to the genetic engineers who created them. Androids were used off-world as slave labor, in the hazardous exploration and colonization of Mars. After a bloody mutiny by a Nexus 6 combat team in an off-world colony, androids were declared illegal on earth - under penalty of death. Special police squads of bounty hunters had orders to shoot to kill, upon detection, any trespassing androids. This was not called execution. It was called retirement. Written in 1968, Philip K Dick's Novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" became an influential hit, later inspiring the 1982 movie Blade Runner, and the cyberpunk genre as a whole. In 2009, Boom Comics released a comic adaptation of the book, with text straight from the novel. This radio adaptation was released in 2014 by BBC Channel 4 radio as part of their Dangerous Visions series. 0:00 The Man in the High Castle 30:03 Time out of Joint 43:10 Confessions of a Crap Artist 55:40 The Exit Door Leads In 1:14:38 The World She Wanted 1:33:00 Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said
