The city is beautiful and there are a lot of attractions including the Comedy Mothership. Joe Rogan, Elon Musk and Tony Hinchliffe have contributed to the growth in popularity of Austin. Attracting many Californians to move to Austin Texas. The tech scene is booming in Austin with many tech companies moving their as well as entertainers. The growth is amazing and part of the American dream; but all the growth is raising the cost of rent, causing many to become homeless. Austin is addressing homelessness differently than California, Washington and Oregon. There wasn't as many in your face homeless encampments in comparison to other cities. They also recently broke up major encampments filled with crime and illegal camping prior to us filming this. So we captured more of the aftermath of that dispersal. Many of the homeless people we met here were kind, respectful and open to sharing their stories. A big thank you to everyone featured in this full documentary. This Austin documentary was primarily filmed around 6th and 8th street in Austin Texas, the epicenter of homelessness in Austin.
