For highlights of my 30+ years shrooming, "Through the Years," please click this link:    • Morel Mushrooms --- "Through the Years"   Since "tree hunters" don't scour every square foot of the forest floor, they usually move more quickly through the woods, and get deeper in, farther off the beaten path. I recommend a GPS, or at least a compass. Spray clothes with Repel Permanone (Permethrin) to kill ticks (for CLOTHES ONLY!) and use tick/mosquito repellent with DEET for skin. Take plenty of water and a snack. Also a whistle, small flashlight, camera, and your cell phone. Binoculars can help identify trees from a distance (may save some steps). Bring several mesh bags (Walmart's 14" x 16" lingerie laundering bags are economical and work great). This hunt was in Wisconsin, April 29, 2012.
