Raced in a VXCS race - weather was awesome, venue was close, and I'd raced at Harleywood before and enjoyed the course. So I decided the morning of the race to load up and head down to Bristol. I was in 3rd after 1 lap, feeling good at that point and finally really settling into a good riding groove, and my rear brake overheated and boiled the brake fluid, locking it up completely. Bled off the fluid (actually, gas, to be more accurate), and after several more minutes of riding it did it again. I wrapped up the second lap and quit, because it was going to keep doing the same thing over and over. Disappointing because I had a shot at a pretty dang good finish that race. I was way ahead of 2P and he contended for the win at the end. My buddy Mark managed to fend him off for a 1st place finish.
