César Cui - Caprice-Impromptu

Cesar Cui was born in 1835 in Vilnius (today) Lithuania. He has french, polish and lithuanian descent and is a russian composer. As a boy in Vilnius he received piano lessons, studied Chopin's works, and began composing little pieces at fourteen years of age. Among the many musicians Cui knew in his life, Franz Liszt looms large. In the late 1880s and early 1890s several foreign musical societies honored Cui with memberships. In the last 2 years of his life, he was blind. He died at the end of the first world war. Pianist: Gamma1734 I like this Caprice very much. At some points it reminds me of Scriabin a bit. It is written quite pianistically, although one has to play chords almost all the time. This took really long in the edit process, which is a reason I bought a new keyboard, honestly I couldn't deal with that crappy thing anymore. Right now, the playing should be in a point, where the musical ideas should be represented in a bearable way. It's a pity that this piece, and composer, are that unknown.
