Various of US soldiers in armoured vehicles STORYLINE: An attack on an United States (US) army convoy in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Friday left one soldier injured and an Iraqi truck completely destroyed. The explosion hit the last US vehicle in the convoy, but it was able to continue driving. The Iraqi truck was travelling behind the convoy and took more impact from the blast. The attack took place in the Gazaliyeh area in the western part of the city. A witness who lives nearby told Associated Press Television News that an Iraqi man and a female US soldier were injured in the attack. The two casualties were evacuated from scene by US vehicles. It was the latest in a series of attacks on US vehicle convoys in and around the Iraqi capital in recent days.
