So a quick review on our Sleeper bus experience whilst travelling up through Laos, from Pakse to Vientiane. We travelled overnight via sleeper bus. This was our first experience of taking the sleeper bus and thought it was a good idea to have a better journey whilst saving on accommodation fees. From start to finish the whole process was easy to book, a mini bus picked us up and took us the short distance to the bus station, tickets were issued and our bus was waiting, make sure you check the parked buses as it may well be yours. On approach each bus looks like a normal bus, once inside it has two levels and approx 16- 18 beds on each floor. Advertised as "double" beds, be aware the beds are no bigger than a (UK) single and its two passengers to each bed, whether travelling together or complete strangers. Each person receives a colourful fleece blanket, comfy pillow and a bottle of water. We had read up that this journey was 14 - 16 hours so was pleasantly surprised that it only took 10 hours. Once the bus had all passengers settled there were no waiting around and the journey began. The bus drives straight through to Vientiane, the only stops are for fuel and passengers do not get off! As people are always wanting to know about toilets, wifi, air con etc...There is one small "squatting" toilet (take tissues!!), on the lower level of the bus, this bus and most ones that look alike have no WIFI, however do have Air con, that is on ALL the time and after 5 hours can get pretty cold! I would suggest comfy trousers and jacket/hoodie 😊 Overall a good experience and I personally would take the sleeper bus again if needed. I Hope this helps and enjoy your travels, Please like and subscribe 👍
