We kicked off the morning with a trip to the PAS to drop off some exciting recent finds, including Michael H’s Edward VI silver shilling. With Ashley finding a similar shilling just a few paces away on a previous hunt, both coins have now officially been declared treasure and are off to the coroner for the next steps. Exciting times for the Bleepers! After that, we headed straight to our Surrey Hills permission for a half day hillside hunt near an old farm. Before we could swing our coils, a rogue horse raids the carrot stash, but once that’s sorted, the finds start flowing immediately! 🌟 Finds of the Day Include: William IV silver sixpence (Murray on his Equinox 900) Cartwheel penny (Michael H) Ashley's George V silver Florin More silver and mixed coinage including a George I half penny A University of London Training Corps hat badge A beautifully engraved bridle boss, bearing the initials of one of the landowner’s ancestors — we’ll be returning this meaningful piece to the family! We kept detecting into the dark, with targets still coming right up until we packed in.
