I wanted to crochet a red sweater to wear for Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week — and this project turned into something far more meaningful than I ever expected. ❤️🧶 CHDs affect 1 in 100 babies, and awareness is deeply personal for me because my daughter was born with Tricuspid Atresia. This sweater is my way of honoring her story, starting conversations, and stitching love and awareness into something I can wear. In this vlog, I’m taking you through my full process of creating a meaningful crochet project: how I chose a heart sweater pattern (harder than expected!) stash diving for red yarn and coming up empty discovering filet crochet for the first time choosing Hue Loco’s Milkshake colorway winding yarn for the first time at my library’s maker space learning how to gauge and swatch for the first time planning to block a garment for the first time ever This project is full of firsts, learning curves, slow crafting, and intentional choices — and I’m taking you along for all of it. 🎯 FREE CHECKLIST: Finish, Frog, or Let It Go When I went stash diving for this project, I realized how much yarn and how many WIPs I owned that I didn’t actually want to use anymore. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or guilty about unfinished projects or a cluttered yarn stash, I made a gentle decision-making checklist to help you decide what to: finish unravel (frog) or let go of without guilt 👉 Download it here: https://www.packplayandcrochet.com/fi... This isn’t a perfect project. It’s a meaningful one. If you’re crocheting along with me, supporting CHD awareness, or learning to slow down and craft with intention, I’m so glad you’re here. ❤️ 👍 Like, subscribe, and share this video to help spread CHD awareness and support the fiber community.
