There are all kinds of different levels of practitioners. A seasoned purple who competes at the higherst level can quite possibly smash non-competitive black belts and maybe even some older competitive blacks. More importantly is developing your game and character and that can be done with proper training. I have been practicing and studying the grappling arts for over 30 years. It has helped me tremendously to grow into the person I am today. I believe jiu jitsu does the mind and body good, especially after you learn that it is more than just about learning technique and to develop fighting skills. For me it's more than that.
