Welcome! Thank you for watching. This is a simple and quick knitting project: the Sophie Scarf by Mette Wendelboe Okkels or PetiteKnit. I knit this scarf out of a blend of wool, silk and llama that I blended on my drum carder. The exact fiber weights are: 35g of red and white wool, 10g of brown llama, and 5g of peduncle silk. I used several different supported spindles to spin the fiber and then I plied it on my Lendrum wheel. After carding and spinning I had 45g of yarn, about 110 yards. A few grams are lost to the drum carder and spinning. But this was plenty to knit the Sophie Scarf. The scarf turned out very soft and lovely. The garter stitch is bouncy and soft. A little scarf like this keeps me warm and looks nice inside, worn over one of my handknit sweaters. I want to try some more blends like this, the llama and silk elevates the generic wool and softens it. Subscribe for more spinning and knitting adventures! I try to post a new Spin to Knit video every month. I am already working on the next one and I am so excited about it.
