Should Feminists Clone? And If So, How? | Deboleena Roy | TEDxEmory

Deboleena Roy, Emory Professor of Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and Women’s gender, and sexual studies, is ready to start her talk on the future of feminism Deboleena Roy is Professor of Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB) and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Emory University. She is currently chair of the Department of WGSS and serves as associate faculty in the Neuroscience Program, Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Starting August 2020, she will serve as the new Senior Associate Dean of Faculty for Emory College of Arts and Sciences. Roy is interested in developing feminist practices that contribute to scientific inquiry in the lab. Her fields of interest include neuroscience, molecular biology, reproductive justice movements, feminist theory, postcolonial theory, and feminist science and technology studies. Her research has been supported by the National Academies KECK Futures Initiative and the National Science Foundation. Her book Molecular Feminisms: Biology, Becomings, and Life in theLab was published by the University of Washington Press in 2018.
