The farming, cultivation, and harvesting of Christmas Trees at a tree farm in Canada. It’s insane how this whole process works and the logistics gone into actually getting these trees from the farm to your doorstep. Christmas trees take 10 years to grow. They come from special varieties like Spruce, Pine, or Fir. The trees are cut down with a saw, then pruned, sheared, wrapped, tied, and then transported to a stone barn where they stay fresh until they’re transported to the grocery store. I wondered how they keep up with the demand every year. But it makes sense because for every tree that is cut, 2-3 trees are planted in its place. Plus, I got to check out the maple syrup museum and learned about so many things that so into the making of maple syrup. Like the use of cree snow shoes, gathering pails, pioneer sap buckets made from birch, gathering tanks, hatchets, tree incisions, nearby sugar houses, hollowed out logs with stones. I’ll be back in February for a maple syrup experience where we’ll watch them make and produce the maple syrup directly from the tree to the sugar house. It was awesome to learn about how Christmas trees land from the farm to your home and how they play such a pivotal role in bringing together families to celebrate the holidays together. And of course, nothing is better than learning about liquid gold, a.k.a maple syrup! I hope you learned just as much as I did. Thank you so much for watching my channel this week! It means the world to me. I love you guys so much and truly appreciate your support in watching my videos and coming along this wild plant journey with me.
