His session titled “Legal transplants and Law Reform” was a tribute by Prof. Andrew to the teachings and work of Prof. Alan Watson. He started his lecture by simplifying the basic concepts of legal transplant and the legal reforms required to believe this imaginary concept of legal transplant globally. He then moved towards the relationship between law and society and its effect on the legal transplant. He highlighted the theories of Watson and Legrand and tried to clarify the concept of Donee and the Donor Society. He also emphasized the legal or practical impossibilities in dealing with a legal transplant. The ‘Mirror Theory’ was dealt with in a great deal about the process of law reforms. The divulsion between law reform originates from reforming of the society and vice versa is the real worry when we need to have the legal transplant laws.
