Determined to turn my Triumph Tiger 800 XRX into a camera chase vehicle I put together a stabilized rig using the DJI RSC 2 with RavenEye ActiveTrack mounted to Scotty Makes Stuff Glider Pro 3 Uno Plus 4th Axis Suspension Stabilizer which has adjustable preload and damping. In this video my friend Tom joins us with his Triumph Scrambler 1200 equipped with Givi's luggage rack, Triumph Dresser/Crash Bars and Free Spirits H-Pipe or Decat. I mounted the suspension module to the upper left crash bar on my motorcycle and then clamped to the grip of the RSC 2 in an upright position. With my Sony A6500, Sigma 16MM 1.4 Lens, camera cage, and the RavenEye this payload seems super manageable for the suspension arm and the RSC 2. The RavenEye connects to my camera with a micro HDMI and outputs the signal via Wifi to my phone. My iPhone then serves as a monitor and also gives me the ability to use ActiveTrack Pro in the DJI Ronin App. By drawing a box around Tom and his bike the RSC 2 will then automatically track him while I ride my motorcycle. With this and super reliable Sony Auto Focus I am essentially a one-man film crew on a bike. We set off taking it slow but quickly realized we were getting some great results. The rig as a whole certainly has some horizontal wobble after significant bumps in the road but does stabilize. This could possibly be solved by mounting the arm parallel instead of perpendicular to my bike. ActiveTrack Pro was super impressive. It was an overcast low contrast day and the majority of the time was able to track Tom very well. Full rotation passes were a challenge up close but by creating some distance we had some success. The Wifi connection to my phone never dropped and gave me a really nice image for reference. No post stabilization was applied to any of the footage in the video except the opening shot as a test. Overall for what this is, a guy on a motorcycle with a suspended gimbal hanging off the side, it yields some super fun results. We love the turning shots with tons of horizontal motion blur. We are super motivated to keep pushing this rig and bring it along on some motorcycle adventures. Thanks for watching! If you enjoy this video please consider Liking and Subscribing to the channel.
