To cancel or not to cancel, that’s the question that thousands of people face when someone they follow messes up. How bad was what they did? Do we have all the evidence? Do we want to impact their income? Destroy their platform? Kill their content? Can they do better? How do we protect people? Can the community survive without become toxic and turning on itself? Is there any way to stop this from happening again and again? Meet the Creator Accountability Network, a restorative justice nonprofit who believes the answer is “yes we CAN.” They work with both content creators and community members to proactively prevent harm from happening, and to help heal and resolve it when it does happen. No canceling, no victim blaming, just genuine victim-centered support, and a system of accountability for content creators who really DO want to be better.
