The air was thin, the snow deep, and each breath felt like a challenge ⚠️. As we made it down from Lungrola into the remote village of Zemithang, the journey changed completely. After battling off‑road conditions for the first 3–4 km, the road improved—but sharp turns and harpin bends meant white knuckles all the way. When we finally reached Zemithang, guess what? We were the first-ever guests at a newly inaugurated home stay. Warm hospitality, hot tea… and then horror struck: a landslide right beside the homestay. Terrifying doesn’t begin to describe it. With rain lashing down all day and the terrain giving way above us, we made the tough call: cancel the rest of the trip and head back towards Tawang via a safer alternate circuit.
