Africa Wood Grow Foundation has in years now been able to improve livelihoods of Kitui Rural Communities by working closely with Kamiti CBO a community Based Organization based in Rural area in Kitui Rural Constituency, Eastern Kenya, Kitui County. Since the start of tree planting project the foundation has enabled farmers to plant over 6000 melia Volkenisii tree species on their selected 1 acre piece of land in what we call agroforestry, a type of Climate Smart Agriculture Practices that enhances food production , community resilience to climate change and also Mitigation of Climate change through Low Carbon Emission Farm Management. The vision is to restore degraded lands in rural setup through forest based economy and empowering the community to be able to conserve the environment as they benefit from ecosystem services.
