The band is giving fans a little gift to tide them over until the Filth brigade, an EP of Motorhead covers featuring a slew of special guests. “The decision to record this was to time it with our second anniversary, and the 45-year anniversary of the first Motorhead single, which has ‘City Kids’ as the B-side,” says Watt. “The preorder began on Lemmy’s birthday. We wanted this release to be special so we asked some very special friends to be involved.” And he ain’t lying! Watt rounded up Jay Pepper (Tigertailz), Andy Barrott (Dukes of Bordello, Chrome Molly), Ivan Tambac (Warrior Soul), and Dave Kerr (Silverjet), before giving frequent collaborator Frank Meyer a call, who rounded up his Stateside pals Ruyter Suys (Nashville Pussy) and Eddie Spaghetti (The Supersuckers). Turns out Spaghetti, Meyer and Suys were all together filming a music video with for their cover of The Knack’s classic “My Sharona.” The timing couldn’t be better, as Suys’ band Nashville Pussy appear with Burton and Pepper’s band Tigertailz on the soundtrack to the HBO Max smash hit series Peacemaker, based on the wildly successful DC Suicide Squad franchise. Peacemaker is currently the #1 show in the world and two of its lead musical contributors are involved with The City Kids!
