For over a decade, I tried everything to lose weight — and nothing worked long-term. Here’s why keto finally worked for me after 40 when every other diet failed. Calories in, calories out. Plant-based. Meal plans. Nutritionists. “Eat less, move more.” None of it worked long-term. From my mid-30s into my late 40s, my weight kept creeping up. Stress, work, family challenges, injuries, and life in general made it harder and harder to stay healthy. And like a lot of men, I blamed myself for not having enough willpower. In 2018, at age 48, my doctor told me I was morbidly obese, hypertensive, and pre-diabetic. That moment forced me to take my health seriously. That’s when I was introduced to the ketogenic lifestyle. For the first time in my life, something changed. By cutting back on sugar, starches, and highly processed foods, my hunger and cravings started to calm down. I wasn’t thinking about food all day anymore. I felt satisfied. My energy improved. My blood work improved. And over time, my life improved. In this video, I share my full story — from struggling for years with weight and dieting, to finally finding a way of eating that worked for me after 40. I also talk about food addiction, satiety, mindset, and why maturity and consistency mattered just as much as nutrition.
