"If You Were the Only Girl (In the World)" (1916) by Nat D. Ayer with lyrics from Clifford Grey. Written for a musical revue which premiered in London in 1916. In the revue, it's sung by Lucius Bing to his love interest Violet Loraine. It's saturated with romance. 30 years later, it hits the states with early recordings by Perry Como and Peggy Lee. Also Gordon MacRae, William Frawley (!), Barbara Streisand, Dean Martin, Doris Day .
