MONGOLIA

I visited Mongolia for the first time earlier this summer. The plan was to get on the horse again and visit exotic places. To see something different, meet interesting people, scout for a new Photo Tour for next year and like always get some great photos. This trip turned out to be a very unique experience, a great trip to a country that had way more to offer than I expected. It was a trip of a lifetime... and I only wish I had more time there! The country is very big and the infrastructure is simple, so traveling between locations takes time. But what I saw and experience was amazing. I visited a camp where I met true Mongolian wrestlers, archers and other interesting people. I went deep into the Goby desert to meet nomads who live on the edge of the sand dunes and heard Camels, sheep and goats. I met the world famous Kazakh Eagle Hunters and got to see the unique relationship the hunters have with their Eagles, learned about their style of hunting and how they train the eagles to not only work for them but with them. In this trip I got great photos... it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time and I can't wait to go back in August 2023.
