What is the Gospel? What Has Happened That Gave You Eternal Life? ALL DAY LIVESTREAM - OPEN PANEL What is the gospel and what does it mean? The gospel means “good news,” and people often ask, what is the gospel in the Bible or *what did Jesus come to do*. The gospel is that God created humanity for relationship with Him, but sin separated us from God, bringing death and judgment. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came in the flesh, lived without sin, died on the cross, and rose again to restore what was broken and reveal God’s mercy, truth, and kingdom. Why do I need the gospel and why do I need Jesus? Many search why do I need Jesus or *what happens if I don’t believe in God*. The Bible teaches that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, and no amount of good works can remove guilt or restore eternal life. Without Jesus’ sacrifice, sin remains unpaid for, and eternal separation from God is the result. Jesus’ death was necessary because only a sinless sacrifice could satisfy justice and offer forgiveness. How am I saved and how do I go to heaven? People often ask, *how to be saved*, *how to accept Jesus*, or *what must I do to be saved*. Salvation comes by God’s grace through faith—repenting of sin, believing Jesus died and rose again, and trusting Him as Lord. Those who receive Him are forgiven, given new life, and promised eternity with God, while rejecting Him leaves one separated from God forever. John 3:16—God’s love and eternal life through the Son; Romans 5:8—Christ died for us while we were sinners; Ephesians 2:8–9—salvation by grace through faith; Romans 10:9–10—confess and believe to be saved; Acts 4:12—no other name by which we are saved; Isaiah 53:5—the suffering servant pierced for our sins; 1 Peter 2:24—He bore our sins on the cross; Hebrews 9:28—Christ offered once to bear sins; 2 Corinthians 5:21—He became sin so we become righteous; Colossians 1:13–14—redemption and forgiveness in Him; Titus 3:5—saved by mercy, not works; John 14:6—Jesus the only way to the Father; Romans 8:1—no condemnation in Christ; John 14:26—the Holy Spirit teaches and guides us; Romans 8:11—the Spirit gives life and hope to God’s people.
