Why are you shouldn't buy waves plug-ins in 2021 If you would like to do a FREE Zoom call click the link here https://homestudiorescue-1fa00.gr8.com/ or you can email me at homestudioresecue@gmail.com Big Sur Compatibility link Make Sure the plugins you use are ready for Big Sur. https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/... Waves Compatibility Link Make sure your computer can update to Big Sur https://www.waves.com/support/tech-sp... This video is mostly for Mac users, because Mac updates their operating system almost every year. That doesn't mean you have to, but to get the latest versions of software on a Mac you need to update. Apparently waves plug-ins just work with Windows operating system's and Windows does not pull the shenanigans that Mac does. I wouldn't know, I haven't owned a Windows computer and over 11 years. You do not have to update your waves plug-ins every year for your Mac operating system, but when you do there are update cost involved. For me to update my waves plug-ins cost $240 whenever I choose to update. That's usually every 3 to 5 years, but anytime I buy a new plug-in especially from Waves and my update plan has expired, I risk having to update again if I want to use that new plug-in. It kind of sucks. I made a similar video in 2020 about the update cost with Waves and I guess the question I get is, is this a Waves problem or a Mac problem? That is one I don't know the answer to. It is becoming harder and harder to be a Mac user, but I believe this is because Mac is innovating. The new M1 chip Computers are some of the fastest ones out there, but a lot of music production software companies or plug-in companies are struggling to catch up with the M1 chip and Big Sur. I believe as time goes on Mac will be leaving windows in the dust. For right now we are sacrificing short term instability for long-term growth. Is innovation a Mac problem? Yeah, it is. When it comes to plug-ins and having multiple companies that are scrambling to get their stuff together, it can be a frustrating time to try to buy a new Mac. That being said it's a tough pill to swallow to spend $240 every time you need to update your waves plug-ins. They are trying to get you to do this yearly. I fight that urge, but it's becoming harder and harder.
