Taken on 3/7/25. Video of 2023 Nova Bus LFS 9119 operating on the Q35 Rush route between the Rockaway Ferry Terminal in Rockaway Park and the Brooklyn College (2) (5) subway station in Midwood. The service during this time operated mainly via Beach Channel Drive through the Rockaways rather than Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Due to the Queens County Saint Patrick's Parade, all buses operating in the Western side of the Rockaway Peninsula were subject to detours and delays. The parade started at Beach 129 Street and traveled via Newport Avenue, Beach 116th Street, and Rockaway Beach Boulevard until Beach 90th Street. All Q22, Q35, and Q53 bus service was terminating at the Rockaway Ferry Terminal, serving as a hub for Rockaway bus service. Aside from the main thoroughfares, plenty of side streets were also closed, leaving Beach Channels Drive as the only usable throughfare. The Q35 was modified as part of Phase II of the Queens Bus Redesign. The route has historically operated via Newport Avenue through Neponsit, Belle Harbor, and Rockaway Park, terminating at Newport Ave & Beach 116th Street. However service was shifted to Rockaway Beach Boulevard starting August 31st, 2025 in a streamlining effort. This replaced the Q22, which had service between Beach 116th & Beach 169th Streets eliminated. Following the redesign, the Q35 operates through some of the most isolated and remote areas of the city's public transit network. While connecting to multiple bus routes and subway services on both ends of the route, it is isolated from the rest of the system between Rockaway Park in Queens and Kings Plaza in Brooklyn. For most of its hours of operation, the Q35 is the public transit service provided with zero walkable alternative. During weekday rush hours, the QM16 provides service to/from Manhattan in the peak direction only, while the Rockaway Ferry Shuttle Bus Feeder also operates in both directions. Neither service operates outside rush hours. A rundown of this trip will be provided soon. Thanks for watching! Like and subscribe for more content!
