In my last video, a lot of you suggested side-gapping a spark plug — so in this video I test it properly. I compare four different spark plug configurations on the dyno: – A standard plug at a 0.6 mm gap – A side-gapped plug – A plug with the earth strap removed – A plug with an increased gap Same engine, same ignition, same dyno session — the only change is the spark plug. One of these setups causes consistent misfire on the dyno. Watch to the end to see the results and what the data actually shows. Before the results, I ask viewers to guess which plug will misfire — let me know in the comments if you got it right. I’ve also got ideas for further tests, but I’m keen to hear yours. If you were running this test, what would you try next? Note: In the previous video there were some audio issues due to new recording equipment, and I also mixed up crank service life with piston life. Thanks to those who pointed that out — both are corrected here.
