Finally, we have created a prototype of a full-size AI-based 2D grinder-robot (grinder-unit) for manufacturing plant. It’s fully autonomous and reliable. We have developed and launched our grinder-unit that is based on the Kawasaki BX-series robot and Nvidia processors. At the present moment, our grinder can clean flat (2D) parts, but the 3D grinder is coming soon. The key feature of the Skilltellect grinder-robot is its self-sufficiency. One doesn’t need to code or prepare any drawings. There’s also no need for additional treatment of the workpieces that require cleaning. Pick any flat workpiece (or several ones), put it on the robot’s working area and push the START BUTTON. It takes a few minutes for the workpiece to be cleaned. We worked out all parts of the Skilltellect software. The key features of our solution are: The Skilltellect 2D grinder-robot is fully autonomous and doesn’t require any drawings. The robot can be operated from a smartphone, laptop or tablet. It is easy and user-friendly. Any flat metal workpiece regardless of its form can be easily grinded. The automatic system will check the disk wear rate before the work starts. The robot can carry out different grinding modes (only edges, without edges, the whole workpiece) The combination of three settings affects the grinding degree: the disc angle, the passage density and the passage speed.
