Installation requires just one material: rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is used as a lubricant for the process and is the only acceptable choice for installing tube band sets on the hammer XT. Alcohol provides just enough lubrication to get the job done, then evaporates quickly to form a secure fit. This method of installation relies on friction on the inside of the tube with the steel ball bearing to create an extremely strong band attachment. To install the tubes into your hammer, XT head, simply push the tube through the hole in the sling bow head from the shooter side through to the target side, then insert the ball bearing 3/4 of an inch to an inch into the tube. It's that simple. All you need to do is use plenty of rubbing alcohol to keep things lubricated, and it is a breeze. Band removal is the same process in reverse. Pour some rubbing alcohol down into the tube and work it around the ball bearing until the bearing is free and able to be popped out the end of the tube. The only tricky part here is getting the alcohol work around the ball. If the ball bearing has been installed and used for sometime, the use will require more work to free up the ball bearing. If we have one tip for you, it is to be generous with the rubbing alcohol. It is a great lubricant, but dries quickly so reapplication and generous use is the key. It is up to you to make sure the rubbing alcohol is completely dry before using your sling bow. We recommend waiting a full 24 hours to be positive that all alcohol is completely gone inside the tube so that the ball bearings will not move. ⚠️ Never shoot any ball and tube slingshot or sling bow installation without knowing that the alcohol is completely dry. ⚠️ Never use ANY lubrication, except for rubbing alcohol to install a ball and tube set up.
