We woke up at the Tobacco River Ranch, a unique glamping retreat located in Eureka, Montana, just south of the US/Canadian border. Driving through the Whitefish Mountain Range in the Kootenai National Forest. Breathtaking experience that combines rugged mountain terrain, serene forests, and spectacular views. We started on Graves Creek Road and then turn east onto Trail Creek Road. Trail Creek Road is a true backcountry experience. The gravel road narrows, and the landscape becomes increasingly wild. This section of the drive feels like stepping back in time, and takes you over a low mountain pass in the Whitefish Range, offering sweeping views of valleys below. Polebridge is a small, off-grid community nestled near the western edge of Glacier National Park, along the North Fork of the Flathead River. Known for its rugged beauty, Polebridge offers a unique and serene experience for those seeking to escape into nature. The town is completely off the grid, with no electricity or cell service, giving it a rustic, back-to-basics appeal. Locals and businesses rely on generators, solar power, and propane. Polebridge Mercantile: it is heart of the community, this historic general store and bakery is famous for its fresh, homemade pastries (especially the huckleberry bear claws).
