RevueFlex SM 302 is a 35mm film SLR camera. This camera is actually a Cosina Hi-Lite 40 (manufactured in Japan) and rebranded as RevueFlex SM 302 for Foto-Quelle, a German retailer from Nuremberg. This camera was made in 70's and it has good-quality metal contruction. The camera is fitted with a fully metallic vertical focal plane shutter. The shutter speed goes from 1 second to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000s and Bulb (B). It has a ISO (ASA) selection wheel and an integrated light meter, that works with one LR44 battery. By selecting the film speed on the wheel, the exposure needle indicates if the frame is over (+) or under (-) exposed. By keeping the needle between the brackets, your frame will be correctly eposed. To adjust the exposure, after winding the film, press the shutter button half way down and adjust the aperture and shutterspeed so the needle will stay perfectly balanced between the brackets. If it's all good, press the shutter button all way down to take the picture. You can check the ligh meeter battery by pressing the button on the back of the camera. A red light indicator will light up on top of the camera, next to the rewind button. The metering system has two options, A and S. You can switch between them by rotatinng the button located under the rewind button. A is used to calculate the entire frame exposure, while the S (subject) will calculate only the center of the frame. The S function can be used in contre-jour portraits, when the background is less important than the details of the subject (face).
