Presenters Blake Willis Economist, Macromonitor Pty Ltd Blake is responsible for Macromonitor’s construction activity forecasting work for the transport infrastructure sector, covering road construction, road maintenance, bridges, railways and ports. He has also been responsible for research and forecasting studies for a variety of other sectors and industries. Blake has also been responsible for producing many reports focussing on construction costs and cost escalation for a wide range of clients. Blake is the principal author of the report for IPWEA on Local Road Construction Cost Forecasts. Nigel Hatcher Director, Macromonitor Pty Ltd Nigel Hatcher is a director of Macromonitor, and has over 30 years’ experience as a consultant economist and industry forecaster. Nigel has an extensive research and forecasting background in the areas of: Economics, Infrastructure and Utilities, Construction and maintenance, Mining, and Cost escalation forecasting. Nigel has worked on a large number of cost escalation reports, examining the cost projections relevant to specific projects and industry sectors. Prior to founding Macromonitor, Nigel was an Associate Director at BIS Shrapnel Pty Ltd (now Oxford Economics), where he established and managed the Infrastructure and Mining business unit. Nigel has produced many research and forecasting studies on Australia’s construction and mining sectors, for organisations in the mining, construction, utilities and government sectors.
