Singing Christine's songs always feels like a homecoming, for I cherish that role and character so deeply, as well as the story on its whole! She has been well taught." - Maria Lira is a 18 year old luso-brazilian soprano and violinist, based in Portugal. Raised in an extremely musical household, music is a part of her life ever since birth. Opera, classical music and musical theatre are her biggest passions, which developed her desire to become a lyrical singer from the age of three. She took violins lessons throughout various stages of her life, beginning at the of five. Her first contact with voice lessons was online, having online coaching with Anna O'Byrne and Rachel Anne Moore, between 2020 and 2021, respectively. In September 2021, she followed the lyrical singing course at the music conservatory, beginning her in-person vocal tuition. Throughout her years at the Conservatory, she was a part of various projects, such as operas, musicals, choir and orchestra concerts. In April 2024, Lira attended the national singing contest, where she won 3rd place. Currently, Lira continues to improve her artistic skills in ESMAE, Porto. #thephantomoftheopera #thinkofme #christinedaae
