Presenting my video from our 1,700+ km road trip through the states of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona 🇺🇸! We took on 8 days of nonstop adventure, and even though it was a lot to squeeze in, we made the most of every moment. Watch to see how much you can explore in a 1-week trip, starting in San Francisco and ending in LA. We started our journey from a half-day in San Francisco🌉, visiting Pier 39 during the sunset and stopping in few stunning viewpoints of the famous Golden Gate Bridge. After leaving San Francisco, we headed toward Sequoia National Park, famous for its giant trees, including the five largest trees in the world 🌳🌳. These trees are as old as 3000 years and can reach heights of almost 100 meters. Visiting the park is fairly easy – just head towards the biggest tree, General Sherman, and make stops along the way at Tunnel Log and Giant Forest. You’ll drive most of the way and then take about a 1-hour walk. It’s a charming and pleasant park, perfect for sightseeing. Next stop was Death Valley💀, with its sand dunes, salt flats, and beautiful mountains in the background. This unique location is the hottest, driest, and lowest point in the US. It’s about a 5.5-hour drive from Sequoia National Park (or 2 hours from Las Vegas), which made it our second stop. Here are a few points to not miss there: • Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes (nice spot for the sunrise) • Badwater Basin • Zabriskie Point The next day, we drove to one of my favorite parks on this trip – Zion National Park🏞️. It’s full of colors – magnificent mountains and trees all around. There are many hiking trails, and I recommend spending at least half a day there. We walked the Watchman Trail, which takes about 1.5 hours. If you have more time, I’d also recommend checking out the Canyon Overlook Trail. Bryce Canyon 🌄 was definitely another trip highlight. The beautiful rock formations stretching out in the horizon and the incredible sunset were breathtaking. Here’s the best way to visit the park: • Start from Inspiration Point • Drive to Sunrise Point • Hike down 3 km via Queens Garden Trail • Then, visit Bryce Point and Sunset Point Take your time, as it really is an incredible place. We also visited a few places near the town of Page in Arizona. One of the biggest attractions in this area is Horseshoe Bend. Here, the Colorado River winds through the picturesque Glen Canyon, 310 meters deep, forming a unique horseshoe shape. Arizona’s geology is amazing, with red rocks colored by rusted iron. Wind and water have shaped these rocks into unique formations over time. The state also features volcanic mountains, deserts, and a wealth of minerals, making it a natural wonderland to explore. We visited New Wave, Toadstool Hoodoos Trailhead, and Glen Canyon Dam Overlook. The next morning, we woke up early to admire the sunrise over the Grand Canyon. This natural wonder is so vast it seems to stretch endlessly. Formed by the Colorado River, it’s over 2 billion years old and more than 1.8 km deep, offering breathtaking views. There are also several trails worth hiking to truly experience its beauty. Monument Valley 🏜️ was the place I had been eagerly awaiting. Located on the Arizona-Utah border, even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the towering sandstone buttes, part of the Navajo Nation, felt mysterious and timeless – like a scene from another world. We then took Route 66, one of America’s most famous roads, celebrated in books, songs, movies, and TV shows. It became a symbol of freedom and adventure in American culture. During the 1930s Dust Bowl, it was the main route for farm workers moving from the Midwest to California. Afterward, we stopped for the night in Las Vegas, exploring its amazing hotels and casinos. On our last day, we drove to Los Angeles, stopping at Lake Hollywood Park for a close-up view of the Hollywood Sign. Then, we headed to LA and famous Venice Beach to soak up some sun and watch the sunset. Since it was Halloween night, the city was full of people in costumes. We also dressed up and ended the night on Haloween party in one of the pubs near Santa Monica Pier. The trip was intense, but absolutely worth it. If you have more time, you could easily extend it by a few days, but it’s an adventure worth doing, no matter the timeframe.
