During the Spring Festival of 2025, I visited Ziyang Street(紫阳街) in Linhai(临海市). It was incredibly crowded, with people packed shoulder to shoulder. I hope to have the opportunity to revisit when it's less crowded to thoroughly explore and capture the essence of this renowned thousand-year-old street. Ziyang Street, originally a street without a name, was named Jiefang Street (解放街) in 1951. Later, in 1998, it was renamed Ziyang Street (紫阳街) in honor of Zhang Boduan (张伯端), the founder of the Southern School of Taoism. Ziyang Street is the second Chinese historical and cultural street in Zhejiang Province after Qinghefang Street in Hangzhou, and it is also one of the most well-preserved historical streets in China. Stretching 1,080 meters, it is paved with stone slabs and lined with shops on both sides. Century-old stores such as pharmacies, dye houses, tea houses, and restaurants are scattered along the street, connecting the Lanxiu Tower (揽秀楼), Tanxing Street (炭行街), Fire Wall (风火墙), White Pagoda Bridge (白塔桥), Wufeng Archway (五凤坊) and other relics with the charm of the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It also preserves the former residences and relics of famous figures such as Zhang Boduan, Chen Hanwei (陈涵辉), "One Family with Four Jinshi (一门四进士)", "Father and Son as Three Provincial Governors (父子三巡抚)", and Guo Fengshao (郭凤韶). 🎬 Itinerary 00:00 Introduction 01:30 Xingshan Gate Entrance(兴善门入口) 14:11 Yongjing Archway (永靖坊) 15:37 Qinghe Archway (清河坊) 16:44 Yingxian Archway(迎仙坊) 18:02 Fengxian Archway (奉仙坊) 21:24 Wuzhen Archway (悟真坊) #ChinaTourism #ChinaAncientStreet #HistoricalOldStreet About the channel: We shoot tourist attractions, cityscapes, outdoor hikes, and adventures from a first-person perspective for viewers at home and abroad.
