Texas A&M uses Tableau for their University Accountability Website. Because the website is for reporting (rather than analysis) and is for the public, Meredith's team tries to keep the interfaces simple and the tooltips helpful. To aid interpretation, they use parameters, dashboard actions and multiple quick filters. In creating the website, the team took a fresh look at the data to decide what kind of story they want to tell (comparisons between colleges/departments, geographic distributions of students/graduates, trends, etc.). Even though there are multiple data types reported, they have created a consistent interface and color palette throughout. The Texas A&M team has strived to create a website that serves the colleges, the administration and the general public, and in this session they'll tell you how they did it, and what they learned in the process.
