The Flottweg nozzle separator achieves excellent results during Jäckering's starch production process. Jäckering mills and food plants produce wheat starch and wheat gluten on a mass scale. The first process step is to dry grind the wheat with air stream mills. After the wet process, the dried flour is sent to several Flottweg Tricanters® and decanters. The suspension is separated into several fractions: a lower outlet fraction that is a high A-starch, a middle outlet fraction with protein and B-starch, and an upper outlet fraction with soluble components. All three fractions are further processed and refined to create two main products in the end: native, clean A-starch and wheat gluten. The remaining products are by-products used primarily by the animal feed industry. Based on their good experience with Flottweg, Jäckering opted to test the new Flottweg nozzle separator for the starch refinement process. The nozzle separator performed impressively, replacing two other nozzle separators without difficulty and also delivering better results. Michael Andreae-Jäckering, managing partner of various Jäckering companies, is impressed with the cooperation with Flottweg and Flottweg’s technical support: "The right people with the right know-how were always there to help us make the best use of the separator.
