Sixth episode on the restoration of a 1991 Arctic Cat Super Jag snowmobile. This video was filmed between November 2022 and January 2023. I was struggling with the sled wanting to creep forward after coming to a stop requiring the brake to stay in one place. i also still had an issue of the sled not wanting to idle once warmed up. The previous improvements have improved ride and handling, but not reliability. I am having fun working on this old sled and it is teaching me so much about these machines. There is always a lesson to be learned by playing in the garage. I currently have about 12 episodes shot and awaiting editing. At the current moment the engine has been put back together but still fails the pressure test. The history of this sled as I understand it – is that it started its life with a Trapper northeast of Bissett Manitoba and then was sold to a surveyor who used it all over Manitoba. In recent years it saw little use except for occasional use on surveying cut lines and hunting for caribou. By the time I pulled it out of the pole shed in the fall of 2019 it had sat unused, for three years.
