2023 KTM 300XC First Ride with WP Cone Valve Forks

First ride on my 2023 KTM 300XC with WP Pro Components Cone Valve spring forks. I've had this set of WP CV forks on a 2019 Husky TX300 and most recently on my 2021 KTM 300 Erzberg and I really like how they worked on those bikes. I was curious how this set of WP CV forks would feel on the all new 2023 chassis. After this initial ride I can say they work great! Plush with that friction free supple movement over the little chop that gives the front tire a planted feel with great tire contact patch feedback. While the stock AER forks worked over a wide range of terrain and offered a lot of adjustability with pressure and clickers I still prefer the overall feel of these WP CV spring forks. I'll get them on the moto track soon. Based on my past experience riding this forks on other 300's on the MX track they will work great there too. Now with the forks so dialed in I am going to have to do someting to the rear shock to match the supple and plush feel up front. My plan is to reduce the friction in the rear shock shock with a WP bladder kit and low friction band on the damper piston. This all new 300cc TBI engine has really grabbed my attention. Free feeling quick revving 2-stroke style power with strong linear 4-stroke like torque in a 2-stroke engine that runs crisp and clean all the time with no jetting...this is an impressive engine and simply so much FUN to ride!
