When you first get the massager its best to fully charge it before using. It takes 2 hours to fully charge. You can use it while it's charging. It comes with a 6 foot long cord. After a two-hour charge, it will work for about an hour and a half without the cord. I like to plug mine in to recharge after every use. I really like this massager. There's only one thing I would change and that would be for the massage heads to rotate.
