The second national “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies drew thousands to downtown Reno. A similar protest, in June, also drew thousands. Organizers said the peaceful rally was an indication of the frustration many say they have with the Trump administration. “I think a lot of people are becoming more and more disturbed by these sorts of things,” attendee Rob Duca said. “Masked thugs without identity being able to haul people off with no identification — that is not America.” Organizer Kimberly Carden said the protest was peaceful. “This is full of joy. We haven't had any incidents,” she said. “Everybody is here. They're happy to be in community and realize that they're not alone and that they can take to the streets.” Thousands gathered at the Bruce R. Thompson Federal Courthouse downtown and then marched to city plaza. The plaza at times was so full that people were forced to surround the plaza at the parking garage across First Street, in the parking lot across the river and on Virginia Street.
