A permission set is a collection of permissions for specific database objects. You can specify for each user whether they are able to read, modify, or enter data in the selected database objects. All users must be assigned one or more permission sets before they can access Business Central. A Business Central solution typically contains a number of predefined permission sets that are added by Microsoft or by your software provider. These permission sets are of type System or Extension. You cannot create or edit these types of permission sets or the permissions within them. However, you can copy them to define your own permission sets and permissions. Permission sets that users create, from new or as copies, are of type User-Defined and can be edited. In each of the five access type fields, Read Permission, Insert Permission, Modify Permission, Delete Permission, and Execute Permission, you can select one of the following three permission options: Yes, Indirect, Blank User Groups can be set up to help manage permission sets for groups of users in your company. You can assign permission sets to the group, to define which object users of the group can access. When you add user to the group, the permission sets defined for the group will apply to the user. ⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:24 Agenda 00:38 Permission sets 01:27 Types of permissions 01:55 Create new permission sets 02:09 Add permissions 02:20 Copy permissions 02:45 View permissions 03:05 Read, Insert, Modify, Delete permissions 03:31 Indirect permissions 04:01 User groups 04:28 New user group 05:06 Assign permission to user group 05:25 User permissions 05:55 Assign permissions to user 06:05 Assign company under user card 06:17 User interface (by user or group) 06:54 Assign permissions to permission sets manually 07:38 Record permissions 08:19 Permission Errors Read our blog on Microsoft Dynamics in the Cloud: https://www.sabrelimited.com/blogs/un...
