Märklin H0 - Roco VT 11,5 Trans Europ Express 'Helvetia' This train is an AC version and it was purchased second hand quite cheaply. The three additional coaches are DC versions. They all had the original clip couplers, which were next to impossible to couple up and more impossible to separate, at least not without taking the whole train off the track. Furthermore, they were prone to coming apart by themselves, when it was not wanted. A new set of coupler bars were ordered from Germany two months ago and they arrived today, so this is the first time the whole seven piece train is running on my layout. The couplers carry power between the coaches for the interior lights, which are fitted in all the coaches. The DC cars need to have contacts installed and the wiring modified to make this work.
