Lotta Soman, a revered traditional Mising dance, gracefully performed on the sacred ground of the Mising Chang Ghar, was presented as a competitive event at the 10th Mising Youth Festival 2026. Rooted in heritage and rhythm, the performance reflected the community’s cultural depth, discipline, and artistic excellence—where tradition met youthful vibrance in a dignified celebration of identity. The Mising Youth Festival (MYF) is an annual cultural celebration for the Mising tribe of Assam, India, focused on preserving their heritage, with the upcoming 10th Mising Youth Festival scheduled for January 26-30, 2026, at Kareng Chapori, Dhemaji. This event, often called Mising Sisang Gi:di Si:pi, showcases Mising traditions, music, dance, and crafts, uniting the youth to strengthen their identity, with preparations including erecting traditional posts and constructing tribal houses.
