Brand History Cigar Review No.38: Saint Luis Rey This week on The Dr. Joe Show, we're reviewing the Saint Luis Rey Pacificos - Regional Edition Asia Pacifico. Of the 27 brands that make up the Cuban cigar range today, this is certainly one of the more obscure. Like many of the smaller brands on the Cuban cigar market, it has only 3 vitolas remaining within the line. However, unlike those brands of similar proportions that we've already covered, Saint Luis Rey has but a single limited release thus far - The Regional Edition Asia Pacifico, "Pacificos." Brands of similar size regarding number of releases available, such as El Rey Del Mundo or Ramon Allones typically have a multitude of "special releases," to compensate for the limited sizes available within the range. Combined with the fact that the 3 vitolas within the Saint Luis Rey standard production line are produced at a very low yearly volume, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find anything from this brand. Low production numbers are far from the only thing that make Saint Luis Rey an obscure brand. The history of this brand is also masked in obscurity with, "best guesses," serving as fill-in fact from so many sources in so many cases. The date on which this brand was first put into production is one item often up for debate. Far more surprising is the fact that no one really knows why this brand was created in the first place! But worry not! Here on the Dr. Joe Show, we're going to sort it all out - well, most of it anyway... Sit back, relax, light up and smoke with us for another brand history cigar review, here at The Dr. Joe Show - "Pure Cigar Entertainment!"
