Our house needed a dedicated Theater Room, so I built one. This video shows the 3-1/2 months spent designing and building this room, from start to completion. With the help of my Wife, we were able to do the whole project ourselves, with the exception of the drywall and carpet install. This room is designed and built to be isolated from the rest of the house. The ceiling utilizes isolation mounts so the floor joists above the room don't transfer sound. The studs in the wall are staggered and offset so that the wall in the Theater Room is not mounted to the stud that the exterior wall is mounted to. The room is wired for 9.2.4, but it is currently setup as 7.2. Room: Projector = Panasonic PT-AE8000U Screen = SeymourAV F100, 2.35:1, Center Stage UF (accoustically transparent) Center = Klipsch RC-64 Front = Klipsch RF-35 Side = Klipsch RCW-3 Rear = Klipsch R-2650-W Sub = Klipsch RW-12d (x2) Front Row = Stanton Model 830 Reclining Chairs 2nd Row = Actual Theater Chairs (model?) Rack: Receiver = Onkyo TX-NR809 Amp = Emotiva XPA-5 Theater PC = custom build Backup = Synology RS814 Gaming = Xbox and PS3 Bluray = PS3 I'm happy to answer any questions you have about this room or how to get you started down a similar path to your own custom Theater Room. Shot with GoPro Hero 8 with the Media Mod, edited on Davinci Resolve 16.
