A brief Gang-gang update for 27 August 2025. 10 GGs visited our feeding table this morning for a late breakfast following the passage of a significant rain band through our local area. For the past two weeks the GG numbers to our feeding table have been, generally speaking, well down. (In some instances, as low as single figures). This may have been due to some unseasonally warm weather in our local area, allowing the Gang-gangs to feed and forage from natural food resources that aren't usually available at this time of year. With the onset of Spring we will start to see a reduction in Gang-gang visits to our table, as breeding pairs begin to re-establish their breeding territories and thus visit our table less often. At the same time we will see during the September-October period the formation of Gang-gang 'creches', as juvenile and bachelor Gang-gangs band together to form new feeding flocks in the absence of the adult breeding pairs.
