Once he spots them, he drops the jig down and lets the fish follow it. Anaya then applies subtle rod movements or holds the bait steady—whichever approach gets a reaction. Skipping Swim Jigs Under Docks When bass roam under docks, Anaya skips a swim jig right into their zone. He finds that these fish are holding under the first dock in each pocket, making dock selection more efficient. With minimal grass in the area, he chooses a medium-heavy rod to give the swim jig enough action while keeping his hookset solid. Emphasis on Visual Cues While forward-facing sonar helps Anaya stay precise, he also explains how you can catch just as many fish without it. Instead of relying solely on electronics, he uses visual cues and mapping to locate high-percentage areas.
