This is Sega Rally Championship for the Sega Saturn. Specifically the Netlink Plus rerelease though I'm sure it's no different in content to the original. My saturn is a Japanese Model 1 that was supposed to have a region free mod but I can't figure out how to spin that up so I just use a Saroo for NTSC and NTSC-J games. The power supply was swapped out though, no conversion needed. The Saturn's not at all a bad system but unlike the DC where there's a lot of shit for everyone, you really need to know what you want from it before pulling the trigger. It's a confused mess of SEGA arcade ports (middling to fantastic quality), original games varying in quality and 3D ports that struggle to get above 30fps due to the bizarre nature of the hardware. Though some games run rock solid due to unhinged developers. I don't even know how Quake runs on this. ALSO: They're well over 30 years old now. Mine is like an old bastard and if it's been off for long enough it has to power on for 10 minutes and then power cycle to actually work. I don't know if it's a chip or capacitor thing but it's probably on its way out. ALSO ALSO: This controller is bloody brilliant. It's just a mega drive 6-button pad with bumpers. Works shockingly well for a lot of 3D stuff. SINCE YOU'RE STILL READING FOR SOME REASON: I've never been good at SEGA Rally but I've always loved it. There was a SEGA Rally 2 machine I saw at one of my holidays and I wanted to replay it so bad it was one of the first games I bought for my Dreamcast. Maybe when I'm 65 I'll complete all the levels. ... ALSO ALSO ALSO: Unless you have the greatest clock battery on the planet don't fucking use 'System' or 'Internal' when a game asks you to save and buy a Cartridge instead. Internal saves run on volatile memory. If you're a modder install an FRAM mod.
